NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Jefferson County File: 15-PA-04

The City of Madras Community Development Department has proposed additional amendments to the City’s Madras Comprehensive Plan, Goal 9, Economic Opportunities Analysis (EOA) to include provisions for Site Needs for Daimler Truck Testing Facility (City File: PA-15-1, County File: 15-PA-04). There will be two (2) public meetings held on the proposal. First, the Madras City Council will hold a public hearing on May 10, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 125 SW “E” Street, Madras, OR. Second, the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on May 11, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the County Annex, located at 66 SE “D” Street, Madras, OR.
Previously the Madras City Council approved the EOA on February 23, 2016 and the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners approved the EOA on February 24, 2016. However since then City staff has determined that an amendment to the approve EOA is needed to account for the site needs for the heavy truck testing target industry. Thereby requiring the City Council and County Board of Commissioners to reapprove the EOA prior to each formally adopting the proposed amendments by ordinance as identified by City file: PA-15-1 and County file: 15-PA-04.
Copies of the proposed ordinance amendments are available for inspection at City Hall, 125 SW “E” Street, Madras, Oregon. Any interested party may testify at the hearing or submit written testimony at or prior to the hearing.
