Project Description: The Oak Ranch Creek Large Wood Placement Project intends to place up to 26 full spanning large wood structures in the main stream of Oak Ranch Creek near Apiary Road (Reach One – 14 sites) and through Camp Wilkerson (Reach Two 12 sites).
ODF is contributing off site large wood resources for this project (up to 150 standing whole trees).
UNWC is responsible for purchasing the trees from ODF.
ODFW Restoration Biologist will guide placement of these trees to create the large wood structures.
Project Purpose: The constructed large wood structures create natural stream complexity that provides cover for fish and encourages channel adjustments, pool formation, and gravel sorting processes. The introduced improvements will increase overall stream and flood plain function resulting in improved spawning and rearing habitat for salmonids.
General:
UNWC reserves the right to reject any or all Bids and to waive any informality or irregularity in any Bid received. In addition, the Bidder recognizes the right of UNWC to reject a Bid if Bidder failed to submit by the date specified in the Bidding documents, or if Bid is in any way incomplete or irregular.
Bid selection will be based on price, examples of similar work, references, proof of required equipment and ability to mobilize and complete construction in summer 2016.
The ensuing Contract will require completion of the outlined tasks prior to reimbursement. The project is grant funded with a set budget. No change of work order will be considered and a not to exceed the awarded sum value clause will be appended to the Contract.
