NOTICE OF A LEGISLATIVE LAND USE
PUBLIC HEARING
The Scappoose Planning Commission and City Council will hold public hearings in regard to the following matter:
Docket # CPTA1-16-DCTA2-16
The City of Scappoose proposes land use amendments consisting of the following proposed actions:
• Adoption of the 2016 Scappoose Transportation System Plan: Volume I
• Comprehensive Plan Text Amendment to amend the Goals and Policies for Transportation and the appendix.
• Development Code Text Amendment to amend Chapters 17.26 (Definitions), 17.106 (Off-street Parking and Loading Requirements), 17.120 (Site Development Review), 17.154 (Street and Utility Improvement Standards), 17.160 (Procedures for Decision Making – Legislative), and 17.162 (Procedures for Decision Making – Quasi-judicial).
The initial Planning Commission hearing is scheduled for June 30, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the Scappoose City Hall Council Chambers, 33568 E. Columbia Avenue, Scappoose, Oregon. The initial City Council hearing is scheduled for July 18, 2016, with a final City Council hearing scheduled for August 1, 2016, at 7:00 PM in the City Hall Council Chambers.
The purpose of the hearings is to take testimony, either written or oral, regarding the proposed amendments. The Planning Commission will make a recommendation to the City Council and the City Council may approve, approve with modifications, or deny the proposed amendments following the Public Hearing. Copies of the proposed amendments are available for inspection at the Scappoose Community Development Center (52610 NE 1st Street). Copies are also available for purchase at a cost of $0.15 per page for black & white or $0.20 per page for color. Interested parties may submit written comments to the City of Scappoose, City Planner, 33568 E. Columbia Avenue, Scappoose, Oregon, 97056 or fax comments to (503) 543-5679 by 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 29, 2016. Failure to raise an issue in person, by letter, or fax prior to the close of the public comment period, or failure to provide sufficient specificity to afford the decision-maker an opportunity to respond to the issue, precludes appeal on that issue.
