CITY OF MADRAS
ELECTION OF MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL POSITIONS
The City of Madras will be accepting petitions for the office of Mayor and three (3) Council positions beginning June 1, 2016. A qualified candidate must be at least 18 years of age, a registered voter, and a resident of the City of Madras for a minimum of one year prior to the date of election. These are volunteer positions and the hours involved can be long and demanding. The payoff is being able to make a difference in this community today and far into the future.
The election will be held in Jefferson County, Oregon, at the November 8, 2016 General Election.

“Prospective Petitions” may be picked up at the Madras City Hall between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, beginning June 1, 2016, and must be returned to the City Elections Official for review and written approval prior to circulation of signature sheets.
ACompleted Petitions@ must be submitted (by the candidate) to Karen J. Coleman, City Recorder/Elections Official, at the Madras City Hall located at 125 S.W. “E” Street, by no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2016.
