The Oregon Zoo, part of Metro, a metropolitan service district organized under the laws of the State of Oregon and the Metro Charter, located at 600 NE Grand Avenue, Portland, OR 97232-2736, is hereby requesting sealed bids for the Stellar Cove Chiller and Cooling Tower Replacement.
Sealed bids are due no later than 2:00 p.m., August 16, 2016, in Metro’s business offices at 600 NE Grand Avenue, Portland, OR 97232-2736, Attention: Julie Hoffman, Procurement Analyst, RFB 3197.
A voluntary Pre-Bid Conference is scheduled for all potential prime and sub-contractors on August 2, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at the Sunset Room in Cascade Crest at the Oregon Zoo located at 4001 SW Canyon Rd. Portland, OR 97221. Although not mandatory, it is strongly suggested that interested bidders attend. A site visit will follow, please dress accordingly. Zoo parking is controlled by the City of Portland and there is a fee.
The work includes the replacement of the 200 ton chilled water system at the Steller Cove Marine exhibit. The replacement chilled water system will consist of a main chiller, cooling tower, two variable speed pumps, a chilled water variable upgrade, associated electrical, chemical treatment skid, plumbing, controls, refrigerant alarm system and temporary utilities (chilled water piping/valves and electrical infrastructure) for installation of a back-up air cooled chiller skid rental for use during installation and in the event there is a future system failure. Control scope will include integrating the packed equipment controls with the campus Delta Controls system.
