PUBLIC NOTICE

The City of Gaston has (3) three Council Seats up for re-election for the November 8, 2016 General Election. Position one (1), Position two (2), and Position three (3), each carries a four-year term ending December 2020. Those interested in seeking an elective office with the City of Gaston must be a registered voter and must be a resident of Gaston the 12 months immediately preceding the election.
The positions are elected from the City at large with those receiving the highest number of votes elected. Each prospective petitioner must collect no less than 10 certified signatures from Gaston electors.
Election Packets are available now at Gaston City Hall during the regular hours of 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday. Election packets must have signatures verified and returned to Wenonah Blanchette, City Recorder at City Hall, 116 Front Street no earlier than 8am July 31, 2016 and no later than August 30, 2016 5pm.
