Sealed bids for the 2016/2017 Cable and Tractor Timber Harvest will be received at the City of Corvallis Public Works Department, 1245 NE 3rd Street, Corvallis, OR 97330. The work consists of harvesting designated and marked merchantable timber in one contiguous area of approximately 106 acres in the Corvallis Forest and transporting to the City-designated mills. These are 38- to 48-year old stands where thinning is needed to promote wind-firmness, reduce density and improve crowns. Approximately half of the area (51.5 acres) will be cable-yarded, while the other half (54.4 acres) will be ground yarded. Contractors may bid on the cable units or the tractor units, or the entire project area. Harvest of the cable units is expected to yield approximately 565 MBF of Douglas fir saw logs, while harvest of the tractor units is expected to yield approximately 500 MBF of the same.
The RFB document may be examined or obtained for no charge at the City of Corvallis Public Works Administration Office, 1245 NE 3rd Street, Corvallis, OR 97330, or by downloading the document from http://www.publicpurchase.com.
