PUBLIC NOTICE
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) and draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the proposed Hole in the Road Timber Management Project located within Clackamas County, 20 miles southeast of Molalla, Oregon in Township 7 South, Range 3 East, Sections 15, 16, 17, 21, 22, 26, and 27, W.M.
The Proposed Action is to conduct commercial thinning of approximately 342 acres of 42 to 137 year old forest stands within the Matrix Land Use Allocation (LUA) as well as approximately 12 acres of 42 to 116 year old forest stands within the Riparian Reserve LUA. Within the 342 acres under the Proposed Action, 64 acres of commercial thinning is located within the Molalla River Segment B Suitable Recreational Wild and Scenic River corridor. The EA also analyzed a No Action Alternative.
The EA and draft FONSI are currently available for public review at the Northwest Oregon District BLM Office at 1717 Fabry Road SE, Salem, Oregon, 97306, or online at ePlanning project webpage: http://tinyurl.com/HoleInTheRoad. Please send written comments on the EA to Chris Papen, Natural Resources Staff Administrator, at the above Northwest Oregon District BLM Office address.
