PUBLIC NOTICE CITY OF MADRAS ACCEPTING PETITIONS FOR MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL POSITIONS Beginning May 27, 2020, the City of Madras will be accepting Candidate Filing forms for the office of Mayor and three (3) Council positions. A qualified candidate must be at least 18 years of age, a registered voter, and a resident of the City of Madras for a minimum of one year prior to the date of election. These are volunteer positions and the hours involved can be long and demanding. The payoff is being able to make a difference in this community today and far into the future. The election will be held in Jefferson County, Oregon, at the November 3, 2020 General Election. This position may be right for you if: — You are an individual with a deep commitment to the betterment of Madras for all citizens. — You are a person who listens, likes to get informed and involved in order to find the best solution to challenging issues. — You are looking forward to the future growth of the City of Madras as an exciting time and want Madras to be ready. –You feel your input can make a difference.
