HEARING NOTICE The Newberg City Council will hold a legislative public hearing on May 17, 2021 at 7 p.m. via teleconference using Zoom to evaluate the following new proposal: 1. Health Hazard Annexation (Quasi-Judicial): Consider an application to annex a parcel of approximately 0.41 acre (17,859.6 sq. ft.) and a 9,000 sq. ft. segment of Camellia Drive R/W into the Newberg city limits and change the zoning from Yamhill County VLDR-1 (Very Low Density Residential – 1 Acre Minimum) to Newberg R-1 (Low Density Residential). The subject property is located 700 NE Camellia Drive and is identified as Yamhill County Map and Tax Lot: R3207AA 00600. The subject property and adjoining right of way are located within the City’s Urban Growth Boundary and are designated by the Comprehensive Plan Map as: LDR (Low Density residential). Vertical Housing Development Zones (VHDZ) (Legislative): Consider a City proposal to create a VHDZ program. The area of the City that the VHDZ would apply to is the C-3 and M-2 zoned properties within the area delineated by the Newberg Downtown Improvement Plan. If approved Title 3 Revenue and Finance of the Newberg Municipal Code would be amended to create Chapter 3.50 Vertical Housing Development Zones. The City Council asks that 10 copies of written testimony be submitted to the City Recorder before 12:00 PM on May 13, 2021.
