CITY OF HILLSBORO NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING CASE FILE NO.: CU-005-21 CHINMAYA MISSION NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held before the Planning and Zoning Hearings Board (Board) through a Zoom virtual meeting at or shortly after 6:30 pm, on Wednesday, November 17, 2021. The Board will consider a request for Conditional Use approval to expand their existing assembly use by 1,219 square feet for a total of 16,720 square feet. Chinmaya Mission is located in the Venture Commerce Center, zoned I-P Industrial Park and obtained Conditional Use approvals (Case File Nos.: CU-004-13 and CU-003-18) for its current location in October 2013 and August 2018, respectively. The Venture Commerce Center is a commercial condominium development consisting of five buildings, A through E. The Chinmaya Mission has a need for more space for their classrooms and assembly space and would be occupying all eight units located in Building D of this development. The subject properties can be specifically identified as Tax Lots 83503, 83515, 83527, 83539, 83551, 83575 and 83587 on Washington County Assessor’s Tax Map 1N2-25BA, and is generally located north of NE Tanasbourne Drive, south of US Highway 26 (Sunset Highway), and west of NE John Olsen Avenue. The properties are own by Chinmaya Mission Portland, the applicant is Chinmaya Mission Portland and the applicant representative is Matt Sprague, Pioneer Design Group. The applicable approval criteria for this PUD may be found in Section 12.80.20 of the Community Development Code (CDC). You will have three minutes to speak once called upon. Members of the public using Zoom will not be able to share their screen during the meeting; presentation materials should be submitted as written testimony by 5:00 pm on the day of the hearing to planning_dept@ hillsboro-oregon.gov. Testimony should avoid repetition of issues, and should be based on the application or on the approval criteria listed above. Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS) 197.763 provides that under certain circumstances, the record may remain open or a continuance may be granted upon the request of a participant. Telephone conversations cannot be accepted as testimony. Pursuant to ORS 197.763, failure to raise an issue at the final evidentiary hearing, or by close of the record, in person or by letter, or failure to provide statements or evidence sufficient to afford the decision maker an opportunity to respond to the issue precludes appeal to the Land Use Board of Appeals based on that issue.
