CITY OF HILLSBORO NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING CASE FILE NO.: SN-001-22 STREET CORRECTIONS 2022 NO. 1 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held before the City Council at or shortly after 7:00 pm, on Tuesday, July 5, 2022. This meeting will be held in person at the Civic Center, 150 E Main Street, Hillsboro, AND remotely via Zoom. The City Council will consider street name changes for the following street segments within the City limits of Hillsboro, including one street located within the City of Hillsboro jurisdictional authority. The first street name change is to change the current street name from SE 72nd Avenue to SE Salmonfly Drive. This street name change is being recommended to provide continuity with the alley name located across SE Blanton Street. The second street name change is to change SE 81st Avenue to SE 82nd Avenue. This street name change is being recommended to better align the street numbers to the grid and surrounding numbered streets to the north. The third series of street name changes are public alleys located in the Butternut Creek and Rosedale developments that are currently unnamed and need a name legally assigned to them for safety and wayfinding purposes. The next street name change is for an unnamed small alley segment located in downtown Hillsboro that needs to be legally assigned a street name, between S 1st Avenue and SE 2nd Avenue, also for safety and wayfinding purposes. The final street name change is for a small segment in an existing development located in southeast Hillsboro, naming the small segment SE Davis Road as a continuation of the already named and existing SE Davis Road. Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS) 227.120 and Hillsboro Municipal Code Chapter 9.24 set forth the procedure and approval process for naming or renaming streets. The Planning Commission has recommended to the City Council that the renaming is in the best interest of the City. On June 21, 2022, the City Council is scheduled to set the public hearing date on this request for July 5, 2022. The staff report on this matter will be available on Tuesday, June 28, 2022. The staff report will be available at https://hill sboro-oregon.civicweb.net/Portal/ by Thursday, June 30, 2022.
