MAYOR AND COUNCIL ELECTION INFORMATION

CITY OF CANBY MAYOR AND COUNCIL ELECTION INFORMATION Terms of office for Mayor Brian Hodson, Councilor Greg Parker, Councilor Marine, and Councilor Shawn Varwig will expire on December 31, 2022. The Mayor and Council Positions will be on the November 8, 2022, General Elections ballot. The Council Positions are four year terms and the Mayor Position is a two year term. The winners of the Mayor and Council Positions will serve terms that commence in January 2023. The first date to submit candidate filing documents is June 1, 2022. To schedule an appointment to file, please email or call the City Recorder, Melissa Bisset, at bissetm@canbyoregon.gov or 503-266-0733. To be qualified for candidacy, you must be a qualified elector and have resided in the City of Canby for 12 months immediately preceding the election on November 8, 2022. Your nomination must be made by petition and signed by at least 50 active registered voters of the City of Canby. SEL 121 Candidate Signature Sheets must be approved by the City Recorder before circulating. After you have collected at least 50 signatures the Clackamas County Elections office will verify the signature sheets. The deadline on which to file your SEL 338 Petition Submission form and verified Candidate Signature Sheets is no later than 4:30 p.m. on August 25, 2022. Filing instructions and the necessary forms are available from the City Recorder, on the City’s website and at www.oregonvotes.org.
