NOTICE OF ELECTION Beginning August 1, 2022, the City of Milwaukie will accept candidate forms for City Council positions 1, 2, and 4, and the mayor’s position, for the Nov. 8, 2022, general and special elections. Individuals elected to positions 2 and 4 and the mayor’s position will serve four-year terms from Jan. 1, 2023, to Dec. 31, 2026. The individual elected to position 1 will serve the remainder of the term that began on Jan. 1, 2021, and will expire on Dec. 31, 2024. The city elections officer (city recorder) will accept nomination papers comprising of a petition starting at 8 a.m. on Monday August 1, 2022, until 5 p.m. on Aug. 30, 2022. Prospective candidates must be a registered voter of the State of Oregon and have been a resident of Milwaukie since at least May 8, 2022. All City Council positions are non-partisan and elected at-large. Those interested in running for office must contact the city elections officer to discuss the process.
