City of Tigard Notice of Public Hearing to Consider Updates to the City of Tigard Fees and Charges Schedule Notice is hereby given that a public hearing on the matter will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 in Tigard Town Hall, located at 13125 SW Hall Boulevard, Tigard, Oregon during the Tigard City Council meeting, which begins at 6:30 PM. The City of Tigard Municipal Court is currently charging 25% fee for cases referred to collections. The amount requested is the maximum collection rate allowed by ORS 137.118. This fee is anticipated to stay in effect until the law changes. Upon review of the Municipal Court’s collections process, it was determined that the fee for collection is not codified in court rule nor in the city’s Fees and Charges Schedule. This request is for council to approve adding this fee to the city’s Fees and Charges Schedule. Since the collection rate is a flat fee paid by everyone and not a penalty subject to judicial discretion, it is appropriate that the fee by set and codified by the City Council.
