PROPERTY OWNERS NOTICE The Metolius City Council will conduct two subsequent Public Hearings beginning at 6:00 p.m. on October 3, 2022, at the Metolius Train Depot and via Zoom video conferencing platform. The purpose of the first hearing is to consider a Comprehensive Plan/Zoning Map amendment to designate the Friends Church property as Commercial. The property contains 1.38 acres, currently zoned Residential 1 (R1) and is located at 575 Hood Avenue. The applicant, Friends Church, requests the amendment with the intention of expanding the current childcare facilities to operate outside of church hours. A second hearing will be held to consider the childcare facility as a Conditional Use. The Planning Commission has recommended approval of both items following public hearings.
