CITY OF SCAPPOOSE REQUEST FOR STREET NAME CHANGE COMMERCE DRIVE TO NE COMMERCE DRIVE & AVIATION COURT TO NE AVIATION COURT NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held before the Scappoose Planning Commission, beginning at 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, October 27, 2022, in the Council Chambers of the Scappoose City Hall located at 33568 East Columbia Avenue, Scappoose, Oregon. At this hearing the Planning Commission will consider a request to rename Commerce Drive to NE Commerce Drive and to rename Aviation Court to NE Aviation Court. The City of Scappoose is proposing to rename Commerce Drive to NE Commerce Drive and to rename Aviation Court to NE Aviation Court. The first and second phases of the recorded plat for the Columbia Commerce Center did not contain a directional indicator in the street names for Commerce Drive and Aviation Court. For concerns related to emergency response time, mail delivery, waste management, and other services, the inclusion of a directional indicator in street names is preferred. NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that a public hearing will be held before the Scappoose City Council beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 7, 2022 in the Council Chambers of the Scappoose City Hall located at 33568 East Columbia Avenue, Scappoose, Oregon. At this hearing, the City Council will consider the Planning Commission’s recommendation regarding the proposal to rename Commerce Drive and Aviation Court. A map of the applicable streets, as well as other records concerning this matter, are available in the Scappoose Community Development Center office at 52610 NE 1st Street, Scappoose, Oregon Monday through Thursday during working hours or by calling (503) 543-7184 Monday through Friday during working hours. All interested persons are invited to attend the hearings meeting and will be given an opportunity to be heard concerning the proposal.
