NOTICE OF RECEIPT OF BALLOT TITLE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Culver City Council approved a resolution at a Public Hearing on January 25, 2016 that accepts an annexation proposal and calls an election for City voters to approve the annexation.
CAPTION: Annex 2.38 acres of Culver School District Property to the City
QUESTION: Should the City of Culver annex 2.38 acres of Culver School District #4 Property on its Southern boundary?
SUMMARY: Approval of this ballot measure will annex 2.38 acres to the City of Culver. The land has been owned and operated by the Culver School District #4 since 2008. This property was used as the School District office. The property is currently outside of the City Urban Growth Boundary. The Urban Growth Boundary expansion process is currently underway and is expected to be completed by the summer of 2016. The property must be added to the Urban Growth Boundary for it to be eligible for annexation to the City of Culver. The land is south of SW Iris Lane and the intersection of 5th Avenue. The property has a building that will continue to be used for educational purposes, specifically a “Head Start” early childhood education program. A legal description and maps of the annexation land are on file at the Culver City Hall.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the ballot title was officially filed for notice of publication with the City of Culver on February 17th, 2016. A legal description and maps of the annexation land are on file at the Culver City Hall.
An elector may file a petition for review of the ballot title not later than the seventh business day after the title has been filed with the city elections officer. A challenge to this ballot title must be filed in Jefferson County Circuit Court not later than 5:00 p.m. on February 24, 2016.
