NOTICE OF APPLICATION

Pursuant to Section 50.45.4 of the Beaverton Development Code, public notice of the following development application is being provided:

VAR2016-0001 Murrayhill Marketplace Sign Variance

On Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at or shortly after 6:30 p.m., the City of Beaverton Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing to consider a proposal by Regency Centers for new free-standing signs that recognize Murrayhill Marketplace. Proposed signs are intended to replace existing signs, one located near the shopping center entrance along the property frontage of SW Murray Boulevard, another located at the entrance of SW Teal Boulevard. The Variance proposal seeks exception to a provision found in Section 60.40.35.3 of the Beaverton Development Code, limiting the number and size of free-standing signs. Signs subject to this Variance proposal are approximately 120 square feet in size and 19 feet in height. Murrayhill Marketplace is generally located west of SW Murray Boulevard and north SW Teal Boulevard and is addressed as 14767 SW Teal Boulevard. The property can also be identified as Tax Lot 300 on Washington County’s Tax Assessors Map 1S1-32AD.

To be addressed in the staff report and decision, written comments on the above development proposal are to be submitted no later than 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2016. Mailed written comments shall be sent to the Planning Division, Community Development Department, 12725 SW Millikan Way, Beaverton, OR 97005. Written comments submitted in person shall be delivered to the Community Development Department, fourth Floor, 12725 SW Millikan Way, Beaverton.

The decision-making authority for the above application is the Planning Commission. Any decision on the above development application shall be based on the Variance approval criteria found in Section 40.95.15.1.C of the City Development Code. The Planning Commission is scheduled to hold a public hearing on the above development application on Wednesday, May 25, 2016, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in City Council Chambers, 12725 SW Millikan Way, Beaverton, OR 97005.

A copy of the staff report will be available for inspection at least seven calendar days before the hearing date. Pursuant to Section 50.45.18, within seven (7) calendar days from the date the decision making authority adopts a land use order, the Director shall cause the order to be signed, dated, and mailed to the applicant and the property owner.
