TriMet Committee on Accessible Transportation

The TriMet Committee on Accessible Transportation (CAT) is accepting applications through January 31, 2020, from persons who wish to be considered for an appointment to the CAT. The CAT advises the TriMet Board of Directors and staff on issues in regard to the District’s plans, policies, and programs for persons with disabilities and seniors. The Committee provides review and recommendations on issues ranging from current services to future plans. The Committee is seeking persons with a willingness to work on those issues and the ability to represent the wider community. The TriMet Board makes appointments in one of two membership categories: — Persons with disabilities and/or senior citizens who use or are familiar with TriMet’s public transportation services, and; — Individuals who represent persons with disabilities and/or senior citizens who use or are familiar with TriMet’s public transportation services. Each representative applicant’s transit usage and/or their familiarity with the transit system will be considered during the recruitment/interview process. The CAT meets on the third Wednesday of every other month from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. (January, March, May, July, September, November). Additional meetings and field activities may be scheduled as necessary to address specific issues. Members are expected to gain a working understanding of TriMet’s plans, policies, and programs, and actively participate in regularly scheduled meetings. The CAT establishes a yearly work plan developed in coordination with TriMet staff. A complete information packet including an application questionnaire is available by calling 503-962-8245 or TTY 7-1-1 or, emailing CAT@trimet.org. Please note that applications are due on or before January 31, 2020. Published Jan. 10 & 14, 2020. BT147758
