INITIAL PUBLIC NOTICE City of Gresham has applied for PDMC grant funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to fund the Johnson Creek Flyover Seismic Upgrades in the general vicinity of Paesano Park; with matching funds provided by the City of Gresham. Pursuant to 44 CFR Part 9.12, FEMA gives early notice under Executive Order (EO) 11988, Floodplain Management or EO 11990, Wetland Protection; since this action is located in or affects the floodplain or may affect wetlands. The project site is located in or affects the floodplain of Johnson Creek. The purpose of the project is to The main purpose of the work to be performed is to make two existing sewer flyovers of Johnson Creek seismically sound. .The proposed action includes: Hardening these sewer flyovers consists of 3 main components: Using pilings to provide a strong base for the span, Replacing the existing span which is not seismically sound, and hardening the manholes at either end of each span. Comments concerning the proposed action will be accepted from the affected public; local, state and federal agencies; and other interested parties in order to consider and evaluate alternatives and the environmental impacts of the proposed action. Comments should be made in writing, sent to the point of contact listed below, and postmarked within 15 days of publication of this notice.
