Crook County School District will destroy all special education student records which are no longer needed by the district to provide education services.

PUBLIC NOTICE Notice is hereby given that the Crook County School District will destroy all special education student records which are no longer needed by the district to provide education services. Policy dictates that records for students eligible for special education shall be retained for five years following the school year in which those records were created. Records will be destroyed for students who last received special education services during the 2015-2016 school year. Please note that this does not include the student’s permanent record which must be maintained indefinitely by local school districts (OAR 581-22-717). Special education records may be needed by previous special education students for purposes of claiming social security or other benefits. If you wish to obtain the special education records mentioned above, please contact Crook County School District Instructional Services, at (541) 447-3743, before August 1, 2021.
