PUBLIC NOTICE Crook County hereby gives notice that it intends to expend funds in accordance with Title III of PL 112-141, 302(a)(2), reauthorized July 2016, the Secure Rural Schools and Self Determination Act. The county intends to expend an amount not to exceed $50,000 in federal funds to carry out activities under the Firewise Communities program to provide to homeowners in fire-sensitive ecosystems education on and assistance with implementing, techniques in home siting, home construction and home landscaping that can increase the protection of people and property from wildfires. This will be used for purposes authorized under the Act to fund Oregon Living with Fire. Public comment regarding this proposed expenditure is requested.
