NOTICE OF MEASURE ELECTION AND NOTICE OF RECEIPT OF BALLOT TITLE Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 an election will be held in Crook County, Oregon. This election will be vote by mail. The County’s designated polling site is located in the Crook County Courthouse, Prineville, Oregon, and will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on November 2, 2021. Notice is hereby given that a ballot title for a measure referred by the Prineville Lake Acres Unit 1 Special Road District has been filed with the County Clerk of Crook County on August 5, 2021. The ballot title meets the single subject requirement. The following Ballot Title shall be submitted to the qualified electors thereof: REFERRED TO THE PEOPLE BY THE PRINEVILLE LAKE ACRES UNIT 1 SPECIAL ROAD DISTRICT PRINEVILLE LAKE ACRES UNIT 1 SPECIAL ROAD DISTRICT BALLOT MEASURE CAPTION Ten-Year Capital Project Local Option Tax QUESTION Shall the District impose $25,000.00 each year for ten years for capital projects beginning in 2022-2023? This measure may cause property taxes to increase more than three percent. SUMMARY The taxes needed for ten years totaling $250,000.00, which will be imposed in equal amounts of $25,000.00 each year. The taxes will be used by the Prineville Lake Acres Unit 1 Special Road District for the exclusive purpose of capital projects associated with Remington Road. It is estimated that the proposed tax will result in a rate of $1.4054 per $1,000.00 assessed value in the first year. The estimated tax costs for this measure is an ESTIMATE ONLY based on the best information available from the county assessor at the time of the estimate and may reflect the impact of early payment discounts, compression and collection rates. An elector may file a petition for review of this ballot title in Crook County Circuit Court no later than 4:30 p.m. on August 13, 2021.
