NOTICE OF JEFFERSON COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION HEARING CASEFILE 22-PA-01

NOTICE OF JEFFERSON COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION HEARING CASEFILE 22-PA-01 The Jefferson County Planning Commission has scheduled a public hearing to hear testimony on the allowance of Accessory Dwelling Units (ADU) within the county on lands zoned Rural Residential, Existing Rural Development and Service Community. In accordance with Oregon Senate Bill 391, Jefferson County is considering allowing accessory dwelling units (ADUs) on certain lots of at least two acres in areas of the county zoned for rural residential use. The current proposal does not include Crooked River Ranch, Three Rivers or Camp Sherman; the county will work with the respective homeowners’ associations to determine if ADUs will be proposed in these unincorporated communities. Further, by state law, property located within the Urban Reserve Area of the city of Madras are not eligible for an ADU at this time. The hearing will be held on April 14, 2022, at 5:30 pm in the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners meeting room located at 66 SE D Street, Madras, OR. Copies will be provided at a reasonable cost. A copy of the staff report will be available for inspection at no cost at least seven days prior to the hearing and will be provided at reasonable cost. Any written testimony should be submitted to the Community Development Department, 85 SE D Street, Madras, Oregon, 97741, or may be submitted at the public hearing.
