CITY OF SCAPPOOSE REQUEST FOR STREET NAME CHANGE 6TH STREET TO SE 6TH COURT NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held before the Scappoose Planning Commission, beginning at 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, August 25, 2022, in the Council Chambers of the Scappoose City Hall located at 33568 East Columbia Avenue, Scappoose, Oregon. At this hearing the Planning Commission will consider a request to rename a portion of 6th Street to SE 6th Court. The City of Scappoose is proposing to rename a portion of 6th Street to SE 6th Court. The portion of 6th Street proposed to be renamed is northeast of the SE Elm Street and SE 6th Street intersection. From their intersections with SE Elm Street, 6th Street and SE 6th Street are offset and discontinuous. 6th Street does not have a directional indicator. The characteristics of the portion of 6th Street proposed to be renamed align with the requirements of a court road type. NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that a public hearing will be held before the Scappoose City Council beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday September 6, 2022 in the Council Chambers of the Scappoose City Hall located at 33568 East Columbia Avenue, Scappoose, Oregon. At this hearing, the City Council will consider the Planning Commission’s recommendation regarding the proposal to rename this section of 6th Street. A map of the applicable segment of street, as well as other records concerning this matter are available in the Scappoose Community Development Center office at 52610 NE 1st Street, Scappoose, Oregon Monday through Thursday during working hours or by calling (503) 543-7184. All interested persons are invited to attend the hearings meeting and will be given an opportunity to be heard concerning the proposal. Interested parties may submit written comments to the City of Scappoose, Community Development Director, 33568 E. Columbia Avenue, Scappoose, Oregon, 97056 by Wednesday, August 24, 2022.
