Saving the Old White Schoolhouse at Carus School

Call for Help in Saving the Old White Schoolhouse at Carus School The old white schoolhouse at Carus School has been sold for $1 to an interested party who is working with Canby SD and is in the planning stages for moving it to its new home. Canby SD has requested permission to demolish the building if the interested party does not move the building by the end of March, 2023. This discussion is continuing with the County Historic Review Board where, after two meetings Dec. 8 and Dec. 15, they voted to allow the move of the building but not the demolition. They have given a 60 day extension to review community interest and support for the building. Clackamas County Transportation & Development Planning and Zoning Division has approved this decision. A meeting of the County Historic Review Board is scheduled for January 12, 2023 via zoom at 7:00pm.
